5 New Thanksgiving Traditions to Start In Your Family

1. Make A Thankful List

Pass out "I am thankful for..." sheets to each member of your family before your thanksgiving dinner.  Let everyone fill out their sheet and then pass around when finished.  See if everyone can guess who is thankful for what. You can print some off here!

2. Family Game Night

It is so tempting to plop down on the couch after you are stuffed from the big meal. Instead of zoning out in front of the television for the rest of the day, make the most of your family time and bust out some of your favorite nostalgic board games.

3. Try Something New

I'm sure you've seen a recipe on Pinterest that you thought looked amazingly delicious but you just don't have the time or motivation to actually make it. Let this day be your reason to make it. Encourage others in the family to find a recipe of their own to make!

4. Invite Someone to Dinner

What better way to say thank you to the people that serve our nation than to open up our homes to them during the holidays? There are many local programs that will allow your family volunteer to "adopt a soldier" during Thanksgiving.

5. Give Leftovers to Shelters

End the day doing a good deed- donate any leftover food to your local homeless shelter. If they cannot accept premade food, donate whatever canned goods you did not use.

Frugalful hopes that your Thanksgiving is filled with many wonderful new memories and traditions!
